Our Foundation

hyper-summit was established in 2003 with a singular focus: to bring world-class architectural design to Australia's public institutions. Our founders recognised that government buildings deserved the same creative attention and design excellence as private developments.

Today, our practice comprises architects, heritage consultants, urban designers, and sustainability specialists who share a commitment to civic architecture. We believe that buildings housing public functions should elevate democratic values and serve as landmarks of community identity.

What distinguishes our approach is the understanding that government architecture operates within complex stakeholder environments. We navigate these relationships with expertise gained from completing more than a hundred public sector projects across the nation.

Design Philosophy

We approach each government building as an opportunity to create architecture that serves multiple generations. Our designs balance immediate functional needs with the flexibility to adapt as public services evolve.

  • Contextual sensitivity to urban and regional settings
  • Transparency in design reflecting democratic values
  • Integration of Indigenous design consultation
  • Future-ready infrastructure planning
  • Community-centred accessibility standards

Every project begins with extensive site analysis and community consultation. We work to understand not just what a building needs to do today, but how it can serve evolving public needs for fifty years or more.
